TBG is made up of a team of professionals with lengthy and diverse experience in the estate preservation, banking and financial planning industries.

Addie Murdock is is a principal with The Burgess Group (TBG). Addie joined the firm in 2002. She has learned the business from the ground up. Her primary focus has been in the international markets working with affluent families and strategic alliances in Latin America and Asia. Addie is an active member of STEP and Top of the Table at MDRT. She is on the board of the MDRT Member Resources Committee. Addie graduated with a bachelors degree in political science at the University of Utah. Addie lives in San Diego with her husband, two kids and dog Muchacho. She is an active sports enthusiast enjoying running, biking, hiking, surfing and skiing.

Nick Burgess is a principal in The Burgess Group (TBG). Nick started with TBG in 2005. His focus is building regional and national strategic alliances. In addition, providing sophisticated insurance solutions to solve estate issues for high net worth individuals, families and foundations both domestically and internationally. Prior to joining TBG Nick interned at Northwestern and Mass Mutual. Nick was instrumental in helping TBG develop an audit tool used by professionals to help protect their fiduciary responsibility. Nick attended two years of school studying abroad at the Institute of Europe in Florence Italy for business arts before finishing up his business/marketing degree at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. Nick is a current and active member of the Top of the Table at MDRT. Nick and his fiancée enjoy spending time in the mountains hiking, mountain biking and skiing.

Alex Burgess is a principal with The Burgess Group (TBG). Alex joined the firm in 2008. His focus is providing sophisticated insurance solutions to affluent individuals and families to augment their estate planning and charitable giving endeavors. Alex works closely with foundations and their donors in developing planned giving strategies. To date, Alex has assisted in raising hundreds of millions for charities, universities and foundations worldwide. Alex began his college career playing baseball before earning his bachelors degree in finance from David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. Alex also studied international business abroad at The University of Melbourne in Australia, and is an active member of Top of the Table at MDRT. Alex and his wife live in the Venice Beach area of Los Angeles. He is an avid outdoorsman enjoying skiing, surfing, hiking and mountain biking.

Zach Burgess is a principal in The Burgess Group (TBG). Zach started with TBG in 2011 learning the business from the ground up. He works with affluent TBG clients in the structuring design and implementation of insurance to solve complex estate, succession and charitable planning endeavors. Zach has a keen knowledge of how to best integrate credit facilities in acquiring this asset class. In addition, Zach helps manage several large institutional charitable relationship for TBG. Zach is a qualified member of Top of the Table at MDRT. Zach graduated from the David Eccles School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. He also played baseball at the university. Zach is an active sports enthusiast and looking to hone his golf game to scratch level. Zach is based in Salt Lake office where he enjoys the rich outdoors of Utah.

Rustin Diehl, JD serves as our Director of Advanced Planning in collaboration with The Burgess Group's faculty of attorneys and outside legal counsel.

Brian McPhail joined TBG as our bank liaison and financing expert after more than 20 years in business management and commercial lending. He is assisted by Ying Wang.

Marla Folau with 25+ years' experience is responsible for executive support, office administration, intellectual technology and systems development.

Susan Montfort coordinates the life underwriting, agent contracting, and policy owner services using skills and knowledge gained working over the past decades in brokerage and agency environments.

Kim Boston is responsible for technical case design, modeling life insurance projections and lending assumptions in order to create favorable planning solutions for each unique client. Kim has 12 years of life insurance and advanced case design experience.

Joshua Velasquez, FSCP serves as Account Executive with TBG and has 13+ years of advanced, personal and business life insurance planning experience.

Finally, case managers work across the country, each of whom has broad experience in the insurance business.
